My final project for my Storyboards class last quarter required me to produce a storyboard for a particular scene from The Princess Bride using my own designs for the characters. Since at this point I was tired of drawing human characters for every single freaking project I've had so far in grad school, I decided to make them animals. And I had a hell of a lot of fun in doing so, since Fezzik works wonderfully as a gorilla and Vizzini makes an awesome owl.

I had so much fun with this project that I'm considering doing a series of short comics depicting some of my favorite scenes from the movie, the first of which will be the "rhyming" dialogue between Fezzik and Inigo early on in the film. I'll have to wait until I have some crazy free time in order to do this, though, so it probably won't happen for a few months. It's just something I'll keep in mind for the summer.

haha, that turned out great! I actually helped a friend of mine board out that scene last quarter for extra credit. I didn't do nearly as well as you did.

Hahah that is made of awesome and cookies. Why did I just know you'd make Inigo a fox?

The Doctor: From the day they arrive on the planet, blinking, step into the sun, there is more to see than can ever be seen, more to do than can ever... no wait, that's The Lion King. Sorry.

oh wow, Jon. This looks great! I really love your unique take on the characters. A+ for you :). I think it'd be cool for you to redo PB scenes with these character versions.

Ha! That is really impressive! Your style has come a loooong way since I've known you. (Can you believe it has been something like 8 or 9 years??) I really enjoyed the storyboard. You work in gray scale very well. Nice expressions on the characters.

Vizzini as an owl made me really Lol. :lol: *whispers* I think you spelled it "Fizzini" in a few of the pages. ^^;

I also misspelled "Fezzik" as "Fizzik," too. I was so drained by the end of this project that spell-checking character names was not within my realm of abilities. In the end it didn't make any difference on my grade, but it does kind of pain me to know I mistyped it when these are some of my favorite characters of all time.

Ah well, at least the project got done in time. Hehe.
