Sunday Sketch Streams on Picarto

Hello, everyone!

Whitney and I have been working hard over the past few months to increase production of bonus materials in our Patreons. In addition, I've decided to start doing weekly streams on Picarto where I will be taking quick sketch commissions from viewers, drawn while you watch. These streams will take place on early Sunday afternoons (starting around 1 or 2 pm EST) and slots will be available for anyone who watches.

Here are the details:

- Flat price: $40/character*
- Detailed backgrounds: $15 extra (basic backgrounds can be included)
- NSFW commissions are allowed, both pinup-style and adult. I will not draw any extreme subjects though and reserve the right to decline any request.
- If multiple people in the stream audience want a sketch, each slot will be decided via roulette spin prior to being drawn
- Each sketch will be completed on camera before the next will be taken. No sketches will be drawn off camera, and no new commissions will be taken outside of the streams. You will be provided with a hi-res scan of your sketch once it has been completed.
- Sketches are drawn in traditional pencil and may include light toning. Inking/coloring options are not available for these pieces.
- Whitney herself may even join the stream on occasion to take sketch requests as well, depending on if Lena is napping at the time.

*This is a temporary "Early Bird" price which I will put in place for the first stream runs. This price may change further down the road, but I'll announce ahead of time before it does.

We did a test run of the first stream on June 30th, and it was pretty successful, so we are officially kicking things off on Sunday, July 7th. From here on out it will be a regular weekly event, so if you've been waiting for the chance to get a custom sketch, plan to attend!

Attending FurTheMore 2018: I'm hosting a panel!

Hello, everyone!

To those in the VA/DC/MD area, Whitney and I will be attending the upcoming con FurTheMore in Tyson's Corner, VA. We have reserved a table in the Artists Alley throughout the entire weekend and plan to be selling books, prints, stickers, and taking art commissions the whole time.

Additionally, on Sunday at noon, I will be hosting an hour-long live panel/demo on Facial Expressions and Portraying Emotion in cartoon characters! POLL: Your favorite Whitney Cosplays (so far)

Hello, folks!

Whitney and I are preparing to attend our first official furry con as artists -- we're hitting up FurTheMore in Tysons Corner, VA on April 20-22 -- and part of our plan is to sell prints of a number of things, including various Whitney cosplays throughout the past three years. We recently invested in a swanky new 13"x19" printer that is professional quality, so we'll be doing standard 8.5x11 prints along with poster-size pieces. What I need to do, though, is decide on which ones are worth printing for the con; obviously we can't afford to bring several prints of every single piece (with over 100 cosplay pieces completed so far), so instead I am asking for everyone's help!

Please reply to this journal with your top 5-10 favorite pieces from all of the series so far. This has to be limited only to the ones that have been completed in full color already, so the sketches from 2017 that are waiting to be colored sadly do not count towards this. I'll be reviewing all your choices and deciding the top 10 pieces to print copies of and bring to the con.

2017 Whitney Cosplays: MASTER VOTE LIST + Rules

2017 Whitney Cosplay Series: Master Voting List + Schedule/EARLY ACCESS

Well, Halloween has come and gone, and with it goes another round of the annual Whitney cosplay sketches. This year’s roster was crazy fun to blow through, and I’m still kind of bewildered that the month flew by so quickly. It feels like we shouldn’t even be halfway done at this point, yet here we are.

So, what happens next? Now we go into…

THE VOTING PHASE

Now that all the sketches are complete and posted, the voting phase begins. For the next 8 days the pieces will be accruing votes via likes/favorites/comments/reblogs/retweets/etc. Basically, any form of social interaction is counted this year; in previous years, only Tumblr was counted, but this year I am counting all four sites on which the cosplays have been posted: Tumblr, Twitter, FurAffinity and DeviantArt. All forms of direct user interaction count as a single vote (not counting views), and at the end of the voting period, the piece that earns the highest number of votes will be upgraded first out the gate to ink & color, free of charge! The rest will move on to the funding phase to be unlocked throughout the remainder of the year.

FUNDING PHASE - ORIGINAL LINEART + EARLY ACCESS

Another reward continuing from last year’s run is the benefit of purchasing the original inked lineart for each piece that you individually fund with a single $30 donation. Ordinarily each piece just needs to reach $30 in total donations (whether in one single donation or multiple), but those who completely fund a single piece themselves will also be purchasing that piece’s original artwork as a reward. As always, those who donate $15 total during the funding phase also earn a free copy of the 2017 print collection once the book is complete. All original artwork will be shipped alongside your copy of the book, in a single package.

So what’s changing this year? Early access, that’s what! For the general public, the funding phase is kicking off on November 10th, but those members of the Peter & Whitney Patreon and the Peterverse Discord get the benefit of first dibs on the donations. The Patreon folks will gain access 24 hours in advance, while the Discord folks will get 12 hours in advance.

Fri, Nov 10 @ 12pm EST: The cosplay gallery link will be updated with the remaining cosplays and publicly posted to all accounts
